Self portrait done in the end of 2015. Since my life has been changed a lot in this year, it’s a good chance to look back at what I did and what I have done and where I am heading while working on this piece. I moved to Canada and started studying in Emily Carr University. I got the name “tiger" is not just because my name rhymes with it or I act like the one on cereal box. It’s because the person who started to call me it after he heard about my story.
This piece represents the period and the journey I been through, I found my love about art and my pen is gonna be something I hold on to to break the restriction from my past. Maple leaves represents people I met in Canada.
Technically this illustration started with 2 squares of news paper cut-out in size 1 x 1 inch. The key concept is to make the 2 square camoflaged in the drawing without apply any paints or pigment on each.
